A little help from surgery

Facial surgery – Upper or lower facial correction

Some are born with a particular look they find disfiguring, like a forehead that’s too long, a nose that’s too big, a troublesome birthmark.
Others suffer from losing their youthful appearance or experience age-related changes in their face.

Finding the right treatment requires an individual assessment. The clinic offers a wide range of possible treatments that can give you a look you are happy with.

Temporalis lift/ lifting of outer eyebrows

A temporalis lift is a surgical procedure performed to improve the appearance of the middle and upper face by tightening and lifting the area around the temples and eyes. The procedure is named after the muscle used to perform the lift, the temporalis muscle. During a temporalis lift, an incision is made along the hairline or behind the ear, depending on surgeon preference and individual patient needs. The skin is then gently released from the underlying tissue to gain access to the temporalis muscle. The muscle is then tightened and fixed in a higher position, providing lift and improved definition to the temple and eye area.

A temporalis lift can be part of a comprehensive facelift procedure or performed as a standalone surgery. It is often used to treat sagging skin, wrinkles and drooping eyelids in the upper face. The result of a temporalis lift is usually a more youthful and refreshed appearance with reduced signs of aging in the temple area.

As with any surgical procedure, a temporalis lift carries some risk of complications, including bleeding, infection, scarring and asymmetry. It is important to consult an experienced and qualified plastic surgeon to assess whether this procedure is suitable for you and to get more information about expected results, procedure requirements and possible complications.

Forehead reduction/ Frontoplasty

Dr. Inanna Weiss is the only surgeon in Denmark to perform this procedure, which she learned from her Spanish colleague Dr. Berenguer, who has developed her own technique and has many years of experience with this particular procedure.

Frontoplasty, also known as browplasty, is a surgical procedure performed to shorten a long forehead. This surgery can be useful for people suffering from a high forehead, frown lines, forehead wrinkles or sagging forehead skin.

During a frontoplasty, the necessary amount of excess skin is removed from the forehead and the hairline is moved forward so that the forehead is shorter but not too tight. The incision is placed on the scalp and masked. After removing the skin and repositioning the tissue, the incisions are carefully stitched together and bandages or dressings are applied to support the healing process. The stitches are removed after about 10 days.
